If you purchase a PMR446 "Everyday" model, no license is required. For our professional Long Range or High-Power Digital models, a UK Ofcom license is needed. Project Telecom can assist you in obtaining the correct license for your business.

Can I use my Project Telecom radios with my existing fleet?

Yes. Our PMR446 radios are compatible with other standard license-free brands. Our digital and analogue licensed models can also be programmed to match your existing frequencies and privacy codes.

What does an IP68 rating mean?

An IP68 rating means the device is completely dust-tight and can be submerged in water (usually up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes) without damage. This is the highest level of protection for electronics in harsh environments.

How does a 4G/Wi-Fi "Everywhere" radio work?

Unlike traditional radios that send signals directly to one another, 4G radios use cellular data and Wi-Fi networks. This allows you to talk to someone in another city or even another country instantly, as long as there is a data signal.

What is the difference between License-Free and Licensed radios?

License-Free (PMR446) radios operate on pre-set frequencies and are limited to 0.5 watts of power, making them great for short-range use (up to 1–2 miles).
